First Day at Great Falls Park, VA

The kids and I drove to Virginia last week. It took us 2 days and was quite the adventure getting there! My car broke down in Kingsport, TN... the middle of nowhere. Luckily a police officer came to our rescue and helped us to a hotel. Ray then drove to Kingsport and helped us get a rental car.

Our first full day in Virginia my dad and I took the kids to Great Falls Park. I used to hike there often when I was a teenager. The water is really low this time of year, but you will see RJ thought the water was awesome!

Averly Lodge Russell was baptised July 5, 2009

Just days shy of turning 6 months old, Averly was baptised at LaVergne United Methodist Church by Pastor Buddy Rhoyce (the same Pastor who baptised her big brother last June). The morning was perfect. The rain held off (it was in the forecast, but Great Grandma Lillian Lodge didn't want the baptism dress she made to get wet), and it was a little cool, which is another good thing because this is a winter dress (Alison wore this in February 1977 at 3 months old). Averly received blessings from every Church member. It was a beautiful service. Many, many, many people complimented the dress and knew it had to be hand made. I told everyone that Grandma Lillian Lodge made this dress - it was a very special day to say the least!!!
Thank you to every one for their blessings. I know your thoughts and prayers were with Averly and our family this day.
